HAPPY EASTER 2004
April 19, 2004
Dear Family and Friends in Christ.
How are you? I hope you had a joyous Easter and spring
break. Are you ready for spring?
Fall and winter are okay, but spring is my favorite time
of the year. The trees are turning green, the grass is waking
from its dormant nap, the sun is smiling through the clouds more
often, and the flowers are announcing their lovely presence. How
can you not feel better or appreciate the beauty of God’s creation.
I know you’re thinking – what has my liking spring got
to do with anything? Well, have you ever been in a state of no
results? It seems no matter what you do, things are standing still.
Your mind is weary with concerns; your heart is heavy with disappointments,
your spirit is holding on by a thread, and you question if God
is aware of your existence.
I’ve been in the valley of “no word from God”, and I have
pondered if God had placed me on the back burner. I wanted to
give up, give in, or just forget the idea that I was Christian
material. I let my fears tell me that God is not going to show
up this time.
Well, as surely as winter lays dormant, and it appears
the earth will not renew itself, spring arrives with a shout,
and God begins His renewal of the earth. The brown leafless trees
begin to bud, the rain soaks into the ground and teases the grass
to grow, and the sun shines bright, healing the earth and lifting
our spirits.
If you thought God had forgotten you, step to your window
or open your door, and look out at God’s wonders. If God loves
this planet so much to send spring every year, what makes you
think you aren’t as precious to Him as this earth.
Have Faith; God is still able to turn your dormant season
into a miracle of rebirth. And Jesus is faithfully interceding
for us before the Father. God wants us to flourish and have joy
in abundance. In due season, God will tend to your every need.
Know that God is always listening to us, even when we doubt He
hears our prayers. There is no failure in God, so don’t worry,
God is still on the throne.
So until next time, here are some scriptures to encourage
you.
Love and Prayers,
Alma
Psalm
92:13-15 Those that be planted in the house of the Lord
shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring
forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; to
shew that the Lord is upright: He is my rock, and there is no
unrighteousness in Him.
Galatians
6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season
we shall reap if we faint not
Romans
8:28 And we know that all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are the called according to
His purpose.
