REFLECTIONS: January 25, 2010

Wow!! The first month of the new year is almost gone. Time is marching faster and faster or so it seems.

We just celebrated the birthday of two of my beautiful grandchildren. It only seems like last week that they were insisting that I pick them up. At the age of 2 and 4 years, they have very little time for cuddling with Grammy anymore -- they are running around playing with their playmates who have also abandoned their grandparents. I'm feeling a little neglected as their family recognition widens and I am no longer their favorite extended family member. My great grandchildren are also rapidly growing up. They haven't quite reached that stage, but I give it a week. But in their case, my daughter has informed me that "She's the Grammy Around Here!".

Maybe I still have a little more time to feel special in their eyes.

Another thing I am beginning to understand is why Mother would get so frustrated with me for trying to take care of her. I am seeing signs of my children's "special attention" -- the one where they treat you like you're the child (smile).

I really can't complain, that is a part of being the matriarch of the family. God has bless me with wonderful children, grandchildren and great grand's. I am blessed all over the place.

As I embark on another year's journey, I am more keenly aware that everyday is a gift. I plan to glorify God before my family and friends at every turn.

My prayer for each of my readers is that you and your families are greatly blessed by our Father in Heaven. Thank you for being a supporter of this site. Please send me a comment to let me know if we have inspired you in any way.
